Jimmy’s Leap of Faith

Had a good laugh watching this guy ski a classic line in the Blackcomb Glacier called The Blow Hole. Enjoy.

A Day Away

My buddy Jay and I made our way north of Pemberton yesterday to ski tour into a new zone. Here’s a little clip of how it went.

Sunshine and no lift line.

… I could get used to this. Here are some shots I’ve been snapping with my point and shoot over the last few days here in Whistler.

Heading home

En route back to Pemberton.

Revelstoke

Currently I’m in Revelstoke and while it hasn’t snowed much in a few days we’ve been finding some fresh lines in the slackcountry. If you haven’t been I highly recommend visiting this awesome ski resort. Two chairs with no lift lines and great skiing make it one of my favorite places to shred.

3rd Place @ Wrangle the Chute, Golden BC

It was off to Kicking Horse Resort this weekend for Red Bull’s “Wrangle The Chute” contest. The competition is a combined score of a big mountain line, into a gap jump, finished off with a ride on the bucking bronco (a barrel with a saddle and four bungees that the other competitors crank on to throw you off). I placed third. The idea was original and the relaxed atmosphere and good skiing conditions made the contest really stand out. I’ll definitely be back next year. Thanks to everyone that made it happen!

I took advantage of the good light and was able to get a few hikes in between inspection and the comp runs. Kicking Horse has some great terrain that’s easily accessible from the Stairway to Heaven chair.

Ski'd a few lines in this part of the contest zone.

The bottom jump.
